Cookie Policy

The cookies and browser storage this site uses, what each one is for, how long it lasts, and how to change your choice.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar mechanisms that keep data in your browser without sending it with every request. This policy covers all three.

2. Strictly Necessary

These are needed for the site to work, so they are set without asking:

  • next-auth.session-token (cookie, 7 days): keeps you signed in to your AutoWiz account. It is set only when you sign in.
  • next-auth.csrf-token (cookie, until you close the browser): protects the sign-in form against cross-site request forgery.
  • next-auth.callback-url (cookie, until you close the browser): returns you to the page you were on after you sign in.
  • autowiz:cookie-consent (local storage, until you clear it): remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again.
  • autowiz-region (cookie, until you close the browser): marks that you are browsing from Israel, so we do not show you the cookie banner. It is not set for visitors outside Israel.
  • autowiz:first-touch (session storage, until you close the tab): the page you landed on and the site or campaign that referred you. It reaches us only with a form you submit.
  • theme (local storage, until you clear it): your light or dark display preference.

3. Analytics

  • _ga and _ga_<id> (cookies, up to 2 years): set by Google Analytics to tell visits and visitors apart, so we can see which pages are useful and where visitors come from.

If you browse from Israel, where the law does not require prior consent, analytics cookies are on by default and you can turn them off at any time. Elsewhere they are set only after you accept, and until then Google Analytics runs in cookieless mode (Google Consent Mode) and stores nothing in your browser. Its data is handled under Google’s privacy policy.

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.

4. Managing Your Choice

Outside Israel, a banner on your first visit lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. Anyone can change their choice at any time:

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Declining analytics cookies does not affect how the site works. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will prevent you from signing in.

5. Changes to This Policy

If we add cookies or change how we use them, we will update this page and its date and, where required, ask for your consent again.
